A promotional plan is a valuable marketing tool when it comes to driving sales or launching a new brand or product. In BM, markets can create and set promotions to attract customers to make a purchase.
Create a Promotion
In BM, markets can create a promotion and set rules to define the type of promotion, condition, and discount. Markets can also add custom attribute and requirements to display the promotion to everyone or a specific group of customers.
Merchant Tools > Online Marketing > Promotions > New
1. Choose the language (if applicable) and fill in the following
ID: A 5 character number to identify the promotion
Name: Detailed name of the promotion
Enabled: Select "Yes"
Searchable: Select "Yes"
Callout message*: The message shown in the promotional callout flag
Promotion details: The full details of the promotion
**The promotional callout flag word limit is maximum 16 English characters, otherwise it will cut off from the callout box.
2. Choose the exclusivity for the promotion in the dropdown menu
NO (Can be be combined with any promotion.)
CLASS (Can't be combined with promotions of the same class.)
GLOBAL (Can't be combined with any promotion)
For more advanced promotion setting, markets can also set "Combinable Promotions" or "Mutually Exclusive Promotions".
3. Fill in the storefront configurations
Link URL: The landing page of the promotional callout (callout message in BM)
HEX color code: Promotional callout background color
Promotional overlay image: The promotional overlay banner image shown below the product images
Remember to click "apply" otherwise all the settings from steps 1 to 3 will not be saved.
Markets can refer to the following articles for more details:
4. Promotion Rule
The promotion rule section is where markets can set rules to run different types of promotions on the brand site.
There are 3 promotion classes in BM
Product
Order (DO NOT USE)
Shipping
For all promotions set on brand site, please do not use the "order" promotion class because the checkout sales will be incorrect.
Configure the promotion and remember to click "apply".
Markets can refer to the detailed promotion list article on how to set up different promotion scenarios.
Testing your promotion in Staging BM
We strongly recommend markets to test the promotion on Staging before launch to ensure the purchasing experience runs smoothly for customers and that the relevant products or discounts are correctly.
To do a complete test in Staging, you will need to do the following so that the promotion will reflect in Staging storefront.
Assign inventory in Staging BM
Go to Merchant Tools > Product and Catalogs > Products > Enter PIM ID
Enter product page > click "Inventory" tab
Find your market and click "Create"
Insert number (e.g. 20 inventory) in "Allocation"
Click "Create to confirm inventory assignment
Rebuild Index
Go to Merchant Tools > Search > Search Indexes
Select all checkbox in "Index Type"
Click "Rebuild"
You should now be able to review the promotion callout on PDP and PLP with link (if any), and also add products to cart to test GWP, price reduction or other related promotions.
Once you have set up your promotion, you will also need to set up a campaign to assign your promotion(s) to. Markets can refer to the Campaign Set Up article for more information.
