Back in Stock Notification

Written by Ask Ada

For currently unavailable products online, customers would be able to subscribe to “back in stock” notification. When the subscribed product is back in stock, an email will be sent to customers.

  • The behavior is similar for both Member and Guest users

    • For Logged-In member:

      • At first, the system should check whether there’s an email saved in their account:

        • (1) If yes, the email should be pre-filled and editable because no need to ask the user to enter the email twice

        • (2) If not, just ask the user for their email (the same behavior as for the Guest user)

    • For Guest:

      • Ask the user to input the email to receive the notification

  • When the product is back in stock within 90 days since the customer requested the notification and available for sale the user will be sent an email

  • The email should not be sent if over 90 days has passed since the user requested (i.e. the record in system will be automatically erased over 90 days)

  • The user will receive an email when the product is in stock

  • One email will contain only one back-in-stock product

  • For multi-language sites the system will need to record what language the user was on so the email can be sent in the correct language
