Product, Inventory and ESB feeds - High Level
TRU imports products from our AS400 to our PIM.
Product flow AS400 -> PIM -> SFCC -> OMS
The product identifier within the AS400 is the TRU SKN number.
For China, the TRU SKN is 5 or 6 digits.
For Japan, the TRU SKN is 7 digits.
A PIM ID number currently is 7 digits*** - > likely to change new items for Japan to a longer length
Master UPC can have a single or multiple barcodes per TRU SKN/PIM ID
A TRU SKN number can be used on multiple PIM IDs for that market
A PIM ID can only have 1 TRU SKN number assigned to it per market
PIM IDs are a universal ID that each market can load their specific market content to - Hong Kong import onto en_HK & zh_HK locales and China import on en_CN & zh_CN.
These markets could have different TRU SKN numbers for their markets, but the product is the same so it shares the same PIM ID
There are 4 examples below to assist OMS with how the mapping for identifiers should be done.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Example 1 - TRU Solid Product
TRU SKN 13393 for this market is on PIM ID 1037239
This product is a solid product, meaning there is only one style we sell within this SKN
Therefore there is one barcode and customers will not see the ‘random pick’ pop-up when adding to cart on the website
The inventory we see in the AS400 is all for the same style, there are no assortments
OMS will receive:
PIM ID (1037239) -> one product within the product XML
TRU SKN (13393)
Master UPC (4573102578426) -> can be single or multiple barcodes
Other attributes (not relevant in this example)
PIM ID (1037239) will be used as the UNIQUE identifier for SFCC and within the OMS.
Master UPC will be visible within the OMS and all barcodes within this attribute for the PIM ID purchased should be scannable by the store staff to pack an order for the relevant item
Inventory
TRU SKN (13393) will be used as the identifier for Inventory feeds for stores
If this item is sold within the WMS, the PIM ID (1037239) will be the inventory identifier for WMS
ESB
Once an order is processed (or a return), the OMS will use TRU SKN (13393) to send the sale to the AS400 / Island Pacific ESB and the Master UPC (4573102578426) via ESB
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Example 2 - TRU Random Pick Product
TRU SKN 12580 for this market is on PIM ID 1037505
This product is an assorted product, which means we sell multiple colours but we cannot see the inventory per colour within the AS400.
We sell this product as a ‘Random Pick’ to the customer, where they agree (pop-up when added to cart) that TRU will select the style on their behalf
OMS will receive:
PIM ID (1037505) -> one product within the product XML
TRU SKN (12580)
Master UPC (630509871834, 630509871537, 630509871520) -> can be single or multiple barcodes
Other attributes (not relevant in this example)
PIM ID will be used as the UNIQUE identifier for SFCC and within the OMS.
Master UPC will be visible within the OMS and all barcodes within this attribute for the PIM ID purchased should be scannable by the store staff to pack an order for the relevant item
Inventory
TRU SKN (12580) will be used as the identifier for Inventory for stores, the total quantity in the inventory file for each store is used, regardless of colour as we just see it as one product within the OMS
If this item is sold within the WMS, the PIM ID (1037505) will be the inventory identifier for WMS
ESB
Once an order is processed (or a return), the OMS will use TRU SKN (12580) to send the sale to the AS400 / Island Pacific and the FIRST barcode listed within the Master UPC attribute (630509871834) via ESB
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Example 3 - TRU De-Assorted Product
(Unique PIM IDs, Same Barcodes, same TRU SKN)
This product is an assorted product, which means we sell multiple colours but we cannot see the inventory per colour within the AS400.
However, we have broken this product down into 6 different PIM ID’s that are unique to the specific colour, this allows customers to purchase the colour they would like
The TRU SKN (29777) is the same on each PIM ID (9000044, 9000045, 9000046, 9000047, 9000048, 9000049) and the Master Barcode (193052032805) is the the same
TRU would separate this product within the storeroom or WMS to allow inventory per style to be visible to sell online
OMS will receive:
PIM ID (9000044, 9000045, 9000046, 9000047, 9000048, 9000049) -> 6 separate products within the product XML from SFCC
TRU SKN (29777) -> same for each of the 6 PIM ID’s
Master UPC (630509871834) -> can be single or multiple barcodes
Other attributes (not relevant in this example)
PIM ID will be used as the UNIQUE identifier for SFCC, OMS and WMS
Master UPC will be visible within the OMS and all barcodes within this attribute for the PIM ID purchased should be scannable by the store staff to pack an order for the relevant item
Inventory *Very Important for this example*
TRU SKN (29777) will be used as the identifier for Inventory from AS400 BUT if we are receiving the inventory from the WMS the unique identifier will be the PIM ID (9000044, 9000045, 9000046, 9000047, 9000048, 9000049). Each PIM ID will have unique inventory for the WMS, as we have counted it per colour
TRU will either manually key the inventory for each PIM ID by store within the OMS (and not allow the AS400 feed to update the inventory) OR we would allow the inventory feed from the WMS to update per PIM ID (9000044, 9000045, 9000046, 9000047, 9000048, 9000049) as the WMS will use the PIM ID as the unique identifier
ESB
Once an order is processed (or a return) for any of these items, the OMS will use TRU SKN (29777) to send the sale to the AS400 / Island Pacific and the barcode listed within the Master UPC attribute (193052032805) via ESB for the relevant PIM ID sold on SFCC or marketplace
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Example 4 - TRU De-Assorted Product
(Unique PIM IDs, Different Barcodes, same TRU SKN)
This product is an assorted product, which means we sell multiple colours but we cannot see the inventory per colour within the AS400.
However, we have broken this product down into 3 different PIM ID’s that are unique to the specific colour, This allows customers to purchase the colour they would like
The TRU SKN (65390) is the same on each PIM ID (9000132, 9000133, 9000134) and the Master Barcodes (6935067702380, 6935067702427, 6935067702458) are different on each PIM ID as they are relevant to the specific style
TRU would separate this product within the storeroom or WMS to allow inventory per style to be visible to sell online
OMS will receive:
PIM ID (9000132, 9000133, 9000134) -> 3 separate products within the product XML from SFCC
TRU SKN (65390) -> same for each of the 3 PIM ID’s
Master UPC (6935067702380, 6935067702427, 6935067702458) -> single barcode
Other attributes (not relevant in this example)
PIM ID will be used as the UNIQUE identifier for SFCC,OMS and WMS
Master UPC will be visible within the OMS and all barcodes within this attribute for the PIM ID purchased should be scannable by the store staff to pack an order for the relevant item
Inventory *Very Important for this example*
TRU SKN (65390) will be used as the identifier for Inventory from AS400 BUT if we are receiving the inventory from the WMS the unique identifier will be the PIM ID (9000132, 9000133, 9000134). Each PIM ID will have unique inventory for the WMS, as we have counted it per colour
TRU will either manually key the inventory for each PIM ID by store within the OMS (and not allow the AS400 feed to update the inventory) OR we would allow the inventory feed from the WMS to update per PIM ID (9000132, 9000133, 9000134) as the WMS will use the PIM ID as the unique identifier
ESB
Once an order is processed (or a return) for any of these items, the OMS will use TRU SKN (65390) to send the sale to the AS400 / Island Pacific and the barcode listed within the Master UPC attribute (6935067702380, 6935067702427, 6935067702458) via ESB for the relevant PIM ID sold on SFCC or marketplace
